ABOUT
JACQUELINE HOSFORD
Jacqueline Hosford has spent some two decades in
the interior design, decorating and residential remodeling
fields. She is a professional member of the
American Society of Interior Design
(ASID) — and for 2011-2012 president-elect
of ASID
New York Metro Chapter.
Ms. Hosford is certified by
the National
Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ Certificate
# 019677), and is a graduate of the New
York School of Interior Design (with highest
honors) as well as Barnard College, Columbia University.
Ms. Hosford has an eclectic
and creative personal history that informs her design. A
rich background in professional-level dance and theater
provides a unique sounding board for her design work. Years
of dance training have fine-tuned her sensitivity to how
people use space, and years in the theater have honed her
instinct for creating mood and dramatic settings. Even as
a child Ms. Hosford created costumes and sets, draped and
sewed fabrics of all descriptions, decorated the church
hall in grand scale for the ice-cream social, and faux-painted
a bathroom, transforming it into a jungle grotto.
Ms. Hosford created
JHID, LLC to bring her own particular vision and expertise
directly to clients who sought her professional abilities.
To date, Ms. Hosford’s design commissions have included
full private residence remodeling, single-family home additions,
kitchens and baths, apartment building lobby and common
areas, and furniture/cabinetry design and fabrication.
Along with her flair
for design, Ms. Hosford brings construction management expertise
to her clients’ assistance, assuring the proper realization
of each project. For ten years she managed high-end residential
projects in Manhattan, ranging from small custom projects
to multi-million dollar gut-renovations. From assessing
concept viability and construction methods, to budgeting,
bidding, scheduling, and purchasing, her understanding of
the design/construction process is comprehensive. With proper
planning, she ensures that a project will be run as efficiently
and smoothly and cost-effectively as possible.
At every phase of a
project, even when a budget is small, Ms. Hosford asks that
things be done thoroughly, with attention to detail and
pride in workmanship.
